MoveOn Council Spotlight: Fort Worth, TX
Recent Event: On a cold, wintry night (if you believe that they really have those in Texas) the Ft. Worth crew stood on a well-traveled overpass to speak out against President Bush’s disregard for the constitution and illegal wiretapping program. They read a copy of the Bill of Rights to the crowd and reporters gathered. Local Media Coverage: The group earned great media coverage when they gathered petition signatures outside the Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo grounds to highlight the Jack Abramoff/Tom DeLay culture of corruption in Washington DC. Hundreds of thousands of Texans woke up the next morning to read about their event in the Ft.Worth Star-Telegram.
